Kristin Ayat has a diverse work experience in various educational settings. Kristin currently works as a Head Teacher at Stephen Gaynor School, a position they have held since September 2018. Prior to this, they were a Co-Head Special Education Teacher at the same school from February 2018 to June 2018. Before joining Stephen Gaynor School, they worked as a Classroom Head Teacher for the NYC Department of Education from September 2017 to February 2018. From September 2015 to June 2017, Kristin served as an Assistant Special Education Teacher at The Gillen Brewer School, where they also worked as a Student Teacher from January 2015 to May 2015. Before that, they gained experience as a Student Teacher at AHRC New York City from September 2014 to December 2014. Kristin's early career includes positions as a Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher at Tutor Time from November 2013 to September 2014, a Summer Intern at Ellis Memorial from June 2013 to August 2013, and an AmeriCorps Member at Jumpstart from September 2012 to May 2013. Kristin began their professional journey as an Intern at Congregation Sons of Israel from March 2009 to June 2009.
Kristin Ayat completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Boston University from 2009 to 2013. Following this, they pursued a Master of Childhood Education (MST) focusing on Early Childhood Education and Special Education at Fordham University Graduate School of Education from 2014 to 2016.
