Frederik Vaassen

Frederik Vaassen is an experienced Engineering Manager at StepStone since April 2014, currently serving as Chapter Lead for Machine Learning Engineers, where the focus is on community building and professional development. Frederik also manages the Search Evolution team, driving the development of advanced text processing and information retrieval technologies to enhance the job search experience for global partners. With a strong foundation in computational linguistics and Java development, prior roles included Computational Linguist/Java Developer and a PhD Student/Researcher at CLiPS Research Center, where projects centered on text mining and machine learning. Frederik's educational accomplishments include a Doctorate in Computational Linguistics from the University of Antwerp and an Advanced Master’s in Artificial Intelligence from KU Leuven.
