John Cox has a diverse work experience in engineering and safety roles. John started their career at General Electric in 2006, where they worked in the Safety Engineering, Mishap Investigation, and Flight Safety Chief Engineers Office until 2008. John then joined General Dynamics Information Technology as an Advanced System Engineer from 2008 to 2013. In 2018, they joined Sterling Engineering and held positions as a Safety Engineer, System Safety Engineer, and Engineer Functional Safety until 2022. Prior to their current role, John had their own self-employed engineering work.
John Cox attended the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering. In 1999 to 2000, they studied at East Coast Aerotech and earned an FAA Certified Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic certification. Additionally, during the same period, they also obtained an Associate's degree in Aeronautics/Aviation/Aerospace Science and Technology from East Coast Aero Tech.
