Michael Murphy, DO, FACOFP, dist, FAODME, is a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in primary care and academic leadership. Currently retired, Michael Murphy also serves as a semi-retired primary care physician with Sterling Medical Staffing Group, providing locum tenens services at VA facilities in South Carolina and Tennessee since 2016. As a member of the Board of Trustees for the American Osteopathic Association since 2008, Michael Murphy demonstrates a commitment to advancing the field of osteopathic medicine. Previous roles include serving as the founding Dean and Vice President for Medicine at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs at Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine. Michael Murphy's career also includes leadership as Commanding Officer at the Oak Harbor Navy Hospital and providing primary care at the W. G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Osteopathy from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from King's College.
