Benoy Varghese has a strong background in finance and corporate development. Benoy began their career in 2007 at GTL, where they worked in investor relations and strategy. Benoy then moved on to Sterlite Technologies Limited in 2009, where they focused on corporate strategy and finance for their FTTH infra BU. After that, Benoy joined Jio in 2015 as the lead for business strategy in their Jio Fiber division. In 2017, they transitioned to Sterlite Power as the lead of finance for the Convergence BU, where they successfully managed a balance sheet of around Rs 800 Crs. Benoy also played a pivotal role in setting up the finance and accounts function for the BU and led bids for optical fiber infra assets. Benoy's most recent roles include serving as a board observer for Sharper Shape Inc. on behalf of Sterlite Power, and as the Chief Financial Officer for Maharashtra Transmission Communication Infrastructure Limited, a joint venture subsidiary of Sterlite Power.
Benoy Varghese completed their education in a chronological manner. Benoy first attended St. Joseph Boys High School in Pune from 1989 to 1999, where they obtained their Std 10 degree. Following this, from 1999 to 2001, they attended Fergusson College, where they completed their Std 12 degree in the field of Science. Benoy Varghese then moved on to P.V.G.s College of Engineering and Technology in Pune from 2001 to 2005, where they pursued a B.E degree in Electronics & Telecommunication. Lastly, from 2005 to 2007, they attended the Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA) at Savitribai Phule Pune University, where they obtained an MBA degree with a specialization in Finance.
