Dan Farrand has extensive experience in public service and law enforcement. Currently serving as a County Legislator for Steuben County since January 2006, Dan previously held the role of Senator for Randy Kuhl in the NYS Senate from January 1983 to April 2009. Dan also served as a Patrolman with the Canisteo Police Department from August 1984 to August 2006, focusing on vehicle and traffic enforcement as well as criminal complaints. Additionally, Dan had a distinguished military career with the New York Army National Guard, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in Military Intelligence in January 2006, where responsibilities included serving as Battalion Commander for the 642 Military Intelligence. Dan holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Policy/History from Eisenhower College and an Associate's degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland.
