Kate Horton

Kate Horton has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as a Key Accounts Associate at Steve Madden, where they have worked since 2022. In this role, they are responsible for the footwear division of both Steve Madden and Betsey Johnson.

Prior to this, Kate worked at The Sak, starting in 2015. Kate'sroles at The Sak included DTC Demand Planner, Account Executive for Off Price Sales, Product Development and Merchandiser, and Showroom Coordinator. In these positions, Kate was responsible for driving sales growth, profitability, and innovation for various customers, including TJX Group, Ross, Burlington, Gabriel Brothers, Ashley Stewart, and Tuesday Morning.

Before joining The Sak, Kate worked as a College Ambassador for Sakroots Campus Circle from 2013 to 2015. In this role, they created brand awareness and promoted Sakroots products on their campus.

In addition to their professional experience, Kate was also an Executive Member of the Fashion Merchandising and Design Society (FMDS) from 2011 to 2015. In this role, they served as the Fundraising Chair and Student Adviser, organizing and hosting fundraising events and providing guidance to club members.

Kate's earlier experience includes a position as a Sales Associate at Savvy on Main in 2014, where they skillfully merchandised products and provided exceptional customer service. Kate also worked as a Visual Merchandising Intern at The Sak in 2013, where they assisted the visual merchandiser and showroom coordinator and contributed to expanding Sakroots merchandise to college campus bookstores.

Kate Horton attended Virginia Tech from 2011 to 2015, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Fashion Merchandising and Management, with a minor in Business. Additionally, in 2014, they participated in a semester-long study abroad program at Lorenzo de Medici in Florence, Italy through API Study Abroad Program.
