Comer J. Cottrell III has had a diverse work experience. Comer J. started off as the CEO of Negusa Negast INC in November 1996, and continued in that position when they joined Negusa Negast as CEO in August 1996. Comer J. also worked as a line cook at Great Wolf Lodge from December 2012 to October 2015. Additionally, they worked as an International Sales representative at Pro Line Hair Products from June 1996 to September 1999.

Comer J. Cottrell III earned an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts/Chef Training from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts- Dallas, from 2010 to 2012. Prior to this, they studied Criminal Law at Queens College from 1996 to 1999.
