Matt Stone

Matt serves as Senior Vice President of Originations for Stonemont Financial Group. In this role, Matt is responsible for leading the firm’s principal real estate investment partnership with Regions Bank, developer partnership program, and healthcare real estate initiatives. Over his career, Matt executed over $1.0 billion in transaction volume across asset types including industrial, healthcare, office and retail.

Prior to joining Stonemont, Matt worked for six years at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey (Truist Securities), most recently as a Director in the Structured Real Estate Group. At SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, Matt focused on principal net lease investments with the firm’s corporate and investment banking clients.

Prior to SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, Matt worked with Realty Trust Group, a healthcare real estate developer where he focused on development and advisory work for health systems. Matt began his career at Brand Properties, a regional developer and focused on development management for the firm’s mixed-use projects.

Matt received his MBA in Private Equity and Finance from Emory’s Goizueta Business School and a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate from the College of Charleston. Matt and his wife, Shelly live in Atlanta, GA with their son Jack.
