Matthias Friedrich

Matthias Friedrich has a comprehensive work experience spanning over two decades. Matthias started their career as a Projektleiter at Forschungsinstitut für Rationalisierung in 1997, where they worked until 2002. In 2002, they joined Stora Enso as a Business Area Controller and later took on various roles including Director Projects, Director Business Development & Investments, and Vice President Operations Controlling & Investments. From 2014 to 2016, they served as the Senior Vice President, Head of Controlling at the same company. In 2016, they became the Senior Vice President, Head of Operations and later held the positions of Senior Vice President, Strategy Execution and Senior Vice President, Business Unit Recycled Containerboard.

Matthias Friedrich has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General from Tias Nimbas Business School / Bradford School of Management, which they obtained from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, completing their studies in 2002. Matthias also holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, which they earned from 1991 to 1997.
