Maria Santiago is an experienced professional in the field of archives and oral history, currently serving as the Manager of StoryCorps Connect at StoryCorps since September 2016. In this role, Maria has focused on the NEH-funded StoryCorps Public Archive initiative, engaging in data content model creation, data cleanup, project management, and communications. Previous roles include Archivist and Temporary Digital Archives Associate at the same organization, and Intern in Archives where Maria worked with a large oral history archive. At the Brooklyn Historical Society, Maria contributed to the NHPRC grant-funded Voices of a Generation project by arranging and describing oral history interviews, and also processed and indexed oral histories for the African American AIDS Activism Oral History Project. Maria holds a Master of Science in Library and Information Science with a focus on Archives and Digital Humanities from Pratt Institute, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Arizona State University.
