David Loomis

David Loomis has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. David started their career at Verizon as an Economist where they worked until 1996. From 1996 to 2023, they held various positions at Illinois State University, including Associate Professor of Economics, Professor of Economics, and Professor Emeritus of Economics. During their time at the university, they taught several courses, supervised graduate students, and served on departmental committees. In 2005, they became the Executive Director at the Institute for Regulatory Policy Studies, where they successfully grew the contributing membership and implemented workshops related to regulatory issues. Additionally, they served as the Director at the Center for Renewable Energy from 2007 to 2018. In 2013, they founded Strategic Economic Research, LLC and currently serves as its President. Additionally, they served as a Ruling Elder at Christ Church from 1999 to 2009.

David Loomis received their Ph.D. in Economics from Temple University in the period between 1990 to 1995. Before that, they earned their MA in Economics from Temple University between 1986 and 1990. Their earlier education includes a BA in Honors Economics and Mathematics from Temple University, which they completed from 1981 to 1985.
