David Pedersen

David Pedersen's work experience begins with their current role as a Senior Production Engineer, Thermal at Strathcona Resources Ltd., which they started in 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Cenovus Energy for a significant period, starting in 2010. At Cenovus Energy, they held multiple roles, including Sr. Field Coordinator from September 2016 to September 2021, where they managed field operations at a thermal oil extraction facility. David was also a Sr. Production Engineer from August 2010 to September 2016, responsible for managing onsite production operations at a SAGD facility.

Before joining Cenovus Energy, David worked at Schlumberger starting in 2006. David'sroles there included Hotline Product Champion (Asia) from February 2010 to August 2010, where they developed a business plan for introducing new ESP technology into the Asian market. David was also a Sales Engineer from November 2008 to February 2010, working with clients to design and sell technology for SAGD oil extraction. Prior to that, they were a Field Engineer from August 2006 to November 2008, responsible for the design and installation of Electrical Submersible Pump systems throughout Western Canada.

Overall, David Pedersen has extensive experience in production engineering, field operations management, and technology development in the oil and gas industry.

David Pedersen completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan from 2000 to 2006. During the same period, they also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the same institution. In October 2019, David Pedersen received the certification of Professional Engineer (PE) from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
