R. Chad Orbeck has a diverse work experience in the energy industry. R. Chad started their career at Husky Energy, where they completed a summer practicum as a Plant Operator, gaining valuable experience in operating a SAGD facility. Following this, they joined Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) as a Shift Engineer, responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of seven OTSG's. R. Chad also managed the water treatment and auxiliary equipment associated with the OTSG's, ensuring steam injection targets were met and tracking and ordering chemical inventory for the water treatment program. After working at CNRL, Chad joined Osum Oil Sands Corp as a Chief Power Engineer, a role they held for nearly seven years. Currently, they are working at Strathcona Resources Ltd. as a Sr. Foreman - Operations, where they bring their expertise to oversee and manage operations.
R. Chad Orbeck pursued their education at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) from 2005 to 2007, earning a diploma in Power Engineering Technology. R. Chad also obtained a 1st Class Power Engineering Certificate from the Alberta Boilers Safety Association in June 2013. In addition, they received a Power Engineering First Class Certificate of Achievement from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in February 2013.
