Peter Tannheimer has extensive experience in system safety engineering and reliability analysis. Peter started as a Reliability Engineer/Electrical Engineer at Goodrich in 2005 before moving to Sikorsky Aircraft as a Senior Safety/Reliability Engineer in 2006. There, they worked on the CH-53K program and led various reliability and maintainability engineering tasks. In 2013, they joined Astronics AES as a Principal Safety/Reliability Engineer, where they managed safety and reliability aspects for multiple aviation programs. Later, in 2020, they became a Principal System Safety Engineer at Stratolaunch, where they led the system safety and mission assurance activities for flight certification. In 2021, they founded Aero System Safety Consulting LLC, providing consultation for various aerospace programs. Throughout their career, Peter has developed standards for FAA compliance and led engineering teams in various safety and reliability initiatives.
Peter Tannheimer pursued a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Penn State University from 2001 to 2005. Peter then obtained a Master of Science in Business Administration from New York University between 2007 and 2009. Lastly, they completed a Master of Science in Engineering/Industrial Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 2009 to 2011.
