Paula Schetino de Castro

Director of Quality and Regulatory at Straus Family Creamery

Paula Schetino de Castro has extensive experience in the food and beverage industry, specializing in quality assurance and food safety. Paula currently holds the position of Director of Quality and Regulatory at Straus Family Creamery since November 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Quality Assurance and Food Safety at Bellwether Farms from March 2019 to November 2019. Paula also held the same position at Petaluma Creamery for over 11 years, from August 2007 to April 2019.

In addition to their work in the dairy industry, Paula co-founded and served as the R&D Director at Sungo Beverages from May 2007 to January 2012. Before that, they worked as a Laboratory Technician in Chemistry and Microbiology at Enartis from July 2006 to August 2007. Paula's early career includes an internship as a Laboratory and Cellar Intern at Constellation Brands from 2005 to 2006. Paula began their professional journey as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Universidade Federal de Viçosa, where they gained valuable experience from 1999 to 2005.

Paula Schetino de Castro's education history includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Dairy Science and Technology from Universidade Federal de Viçosa, which they obtained from 1999 to 2003. Paula then pursued a Master's degree in Food Science and Technology from the same institution from 2003 to 2005. Additionally, in 2006, Paula briefly attended Sonoma State University to study English as a Second Language (ESL).
