Adham Kalila has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Adham is currently working at StreetLight Data as a Custom Projects Engineer since February 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the same company as the Manager of Learning Services from September 2019 to April 2022.
Starting in 2016, Adham co-founded Transport for Cairo, where their main focus was collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data on public transportation in data-poor contexts, starting with Cairo, Egypt. Adham converted bus lines in Cairo to GIS, GTFS, and physical maps for popular usage, providing commuters with navigational support.
From 2016 to 2018, Adham served as a Research Assistant at the MIT School of Engineering in the Human Mobility and Networks Lab, working on estimating fuel consumption using an agent-based model for urban road vehicles. Adham applied this model to various policy scenarios, including analyzing the effects of women driving on fuel consumption in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Before that, Adham worked as the Head Tutor and Program Manager at Symposium - Egypt from 2013 to 2015. Additionally, they gained research experience as a Research Intern at McGill University in 2011 and worked as a Bookstore Executive at Al-Balsam Publishing House in 2009.
Adham Kalila has a strong educational background in engineering and urban planning. Adham started their academic journey in 2008 at McGill University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Civil Engineering. After completing their undergraduate degree in 2012, Adham proceeded to further enhance their expertise at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). From 2016 to 2018, they pursued a Master of Science in Transportation, with a specialization in Transportation Engineering. Building on this foundation, Adham then pursued a Master of Science in Urban Studies and Planning at MIT from 2018 to 2019.
