Bing (Xuebing) Bu has extensive work experience in the fields of technology and data science. Bing (Xuebing) started their career at Fermilab in 2007 as a Visiting Scientist and was a leader in the Electron and Photon Identification Algorithm Group of the D0 Experiment from 2009 to 2010. During this time, they also served as the primary author for three physics analyses, which were published in peer-reviewed journals.
In 2010, Bing became a Research Scientist at Fermilab and took on various roles, including leading the Jet Energy Resolution Algorithm Group and the Jet Identification Algorithm Group of the D0 Experiment from 2011 to 2012. Bing (Xuebing) was also responsible for coordinating the assembly and installation of the near detector of the NOvA Experiment from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, Bing led studies on the first data in the near detector of the NOvA Experiment from 2014 to 2016.
In 2016, Bing joined Strike Social as a Data Scientist, where they developed data-driven recommendation systems for optimizing audience targeting and budget allocation for video campaigns. Bing (Xuebing) also built a performance report system to guide campaign planning and monitor ongoing campaign performance. In November 2017, Bing was promoted to Senior Data Scientist and took on additional responsibilities such as leveraging machine learning models to provide brand-direct services and solutions, developing cross-platform recommendation systems for video campaigns, and optimizing media plans for YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Most recently, in October 2019, Bing was promoted to Director of Technology at Strike Social.
Bing (Xuebing) Bu earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Elementary Particle Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China. Additionally, Bing obtained certifications in "Google AdWords Essential Training" from LinkedIn in October 2016 and in "Machine Learning" from Coursera in April 2015.
