Jonathan Thon

Jonathan Thon, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience. Jonathan currently serves as a Strategic Advisor at ForCell since July 2023. Thon is also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of STRM.BIO, a position they have held since October 2019. Jonathan previously founded Stellular Bio (formerly Platelet BioGenesis) in January 2014, where they served as the Chief Scientific Officer and later as the Chief Executive Officer. Thon has also worked as a Scientific Advisor at Ichosia Biotechnology, Inc. from November 2020 to December 2022, and as an Independent Board Member at Optiva Fertility from January 2020 to December 2022. Prior to these roles, they worked at Mass General Brigham/Harvard Medical School as a Lecturer, Assistant Professor, and Instructor. Additionally, they founded Factual Footage Inc. in 2008. Thon's expertise lies in strategic advising, entrepreneurship, and the development of innovative technologies in the field of regenerative medicine.

Jonathan Thon, Ph.D. obtained a Honors Bachelors of Science degree in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering from McMaster University in 2004. Jonathan then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from The University of British Columbia in 2008. In 2011, they received a Certificate in Design and Conduct of Clinical Trials from Harvard Medical School and a Certificate in Analytical and Quantitative Light Microscopy from Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Jonathan also obtained a Certificate in Healthcare Innovation and Commercialization from Harvard Medical School in 2012 and completed an Incubator program at Harvard University's Innovation Lab in 2013. In 2014, they participated in Incubator programs at MassCONNECT and MassChallenge, both focused on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies. Jonathan further expanded their entrepreneurial skills by completing the NIH Commercialization Accelerator Program in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies from 2016 to 2017.
