Yimei Zhao

Stroke Safety Public Speaker at Stroke Foundation

Yimei Zhao is a dedicated research assistant at The University of Queensland, contributing to studies on dopaminergic neuron degeneration in Parkinson's disease under Dr. Oliver Rawashdeh. Yimei has also participated as a Winter Research Scholar, performing a narrative review on AI applications for predicting COPD exacerbations with Professor Ian Yang and Dr. Teerapong Leelanupab. As a peer note taker in the Diversity, Disability, and Inclusion Service, Yimei supports students with disabilities in physiology and pharmacology. Currently, Yimei is on a health placement at The Prince Charles Hospital Northside Clinical Unit, working with Associate Professor Isuru Ranasinghe on a systematic review of hospitalization outcomes in rural Australians. Previously, Yimei collaborated on a public health digital health promotion project at Monash University and served as a medical intern at Belmore Medical Centre. Yimei is pursuing a Bachelor of Health Science at The University of Queensland, expected to complete in November 2024.
