Joe Bono, CISSP, CISA, PCI QSA, CMMC-AB-RP, has a diverse and extensive work experience. Joe started their career in 1999 at The Regence Group, where they held various roles such as Senior IT Auditor, Senior IT Auditor - CISSP, CISA, SR Project Manager, and Security Operations Manager. During this time, they participated in the planning, creation, and management of the Sec Ops group, hiring and training associates, deploying firewalls, and conducting scheduled audits for compliance.

In 2005, Bono became the Oregon Chapter President of ISACA, the Portland Information Systems Audit and Control Association. Joe served as the acting President for two years, representing the 300 ISACA Oregon members during national and international events, and overseeing chapter information reporting.

Joe then worked as an Executive Account Manager at Eclipsecurity from November 2008 to February 2009 and as a Portland District Client Services consultant at MySource Talent from January 2009 to April 2009.

From 2009 to 2012, Bono joined Legacy Health as the IT Security Manager, Chief Security Officer (CSO), and Senior Information Security and Compliance specialist. Joe continued their career at The Vancouver Clinic from November 2012 to April 2015, holding the position of Senior Security & Compliance officer.

Between 2015 and 2017, they worked as the System Security Manager at Columbia Credit Union, and from 2017 to the present, they have been a Cyber Security and Compliance Consultant at Consultant Technologies. Bono also served as a Senior Security Engineer at Structured Communication Systems from April 2017 to the present.

Throughout their career, Bono has acquired certifications including CISSP, CISA, PCI QSA, and CMMC-AB-RP, showcasing their expertise in security and compliance.

Joe attended Sherman High School from 1968 to 1970, where they obtained a high school degree with a focus on general studies. In 1974, they attended The University of Texas at Austin for four years, although no specific degree or field of study is specified.

In 2016, Joe pursued further education at Portland Community College, specializing in Digital Evidence (DE), Digital Forensics (DF), Computer Crime, and related subjects. This program was affiliated with the Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Homeland Security, and the National Institute of Justice (NIJ).

Joe has also obtained several additional certifications. In 2001, they obtained the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification from the (ISC)2 London Chapter. In 2006, they obtained the CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certification from ISACA. Most recently, in September 2017, Joe acquired the QSA (Qualified Security Assessor) certification from the PCI Security Standards Council.
