Andrew Blakeman has a diverse and extensive work experience history. Andrew started their career in 1996 at BP, where they held various roles over the years, including Tax Manager, Manager of Group Treasury and Capital Markets, Chief Financial Officer of BP Shipping, Chief Financial Officer of Projects, and Head of Control for Refining & Marketing. Andrew was also involved in important initiatives such as leading a $500 million M&A transaction and implementing improved financial risk management.
In 2008, Blakeman became a Non-Executive Director at NHS Blood and Transplant, where they served on the main board, chaired the Audit Committee, and was involved in safety, security, quality, and clinical governance matters. Andrew also had a role as Chair of Individual Patient Funding Request for Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government, conducting an independent review to improve the processes for approving expensive treatments in the NHS in Wales.

Andrew Blakeman has a diverse educational background. Andrew attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 1985 to 1988, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. Following this, they pursued further education at ICAEW from 1988 to 1991, acquiring the degree of Chartered Accountant (FCA). Later, from 2000 to 2002, they attended the London Business School and completed their Master of Science degree in Finance. Additionally, in 1991, Andrew obtained the Chartered Accountant (FCA) certification from ICAEW. Furthermore, in 2006, they obtained the Advanced Diploma in Corporate Finance (CF qualification) from ICAEW.
