Lenny Raney began their career in 2010 as a Corps Member with Teach For America, receiving on-site training and professional development in elementary instruction at the 2010 Summer Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. Later that year, they were hired as a Special Education Teacher at W. Smith Jr. Elementary School/Phillis Wheatley Community School, where they were responsible for instruction and assessment of special needs students grades K-4. In 2013, they moved to FirstLine Schools, Inc. as a Special Education Coordinator, responsible for interviewing, hiring, supporting, developing, and evaluating a team of 15 special education teachers and paraprofessionals, as well as managing an $800,000 special education budget. In 2016, they joined KIPP New Orleans as a Student Support Coordinator, responsible for interviewing, hiring, supporting, developing, and evaluating a team of 10 special education teachers, related service providers, and paraprofessionals, as well as coordinating related special education services with outside contractors and maintaining full paper based and electronic compliance with state and federal special education law for school caseload of 80+ students. Most recently, in 2017, they joined StudySync as a Senior Academic Designer.
Lenny Raney received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology from Fordham University in 2009.
