Josh Horowitz

Josh Horowitz has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Josh is currently serving as the Co-Founder and CTO of Stylo, Inc. since April 2021. Prior to that, they worked at the Intelligent Retail Lab by Walmart from 2017 to 2021, holding various roles including Tech Lead, Machine Learning, Staff Software Engineer, Machine Learning, and Senior Software Engineer, Machine Learning.

Before their time at Walmart, Josh was a Senior Software Engineer at SecurityScorecard from 2015 to 2017. During this period, they played a significant role in redesigning and implementing the core network mapping and attribution system, improving its performance and scalability. Josh also developed Instant SecurityScorecard, a security auditing tool that gained recognition from news outlets.

From 2012 to 2015, Josh worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Ultrareach Internet Corp, where they designed and implemented cloud nodes for anti-censorship infrastructure. Josh was also involved in building the UltraSurf browser and developing Chrome and Firefox extensions.

In addition, Josh founded and served as the CEO of Doodle Free LLC from 2012 to 2015. Josh developed mobile apps for iOS and Android, designed and implemented websites, wrote Google Chrome extensions, and developed interface drivers for proprietary hardware.

Earlier in their career, Josh worked as a System Administrator at Netcentric from 2008 to 2012 and as a Network Technician at The Frisch School in 2007. Josh started their professional journey as an Independent Computer Technician from 2004 to 2007.

Josh Horowitz earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from City University of New York Queens College, completing their studies from 2010 to 2015. Prior to their college education, Josh attended The Frisch School. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications in the field of deep learning. In March 2018, they completed various courses on Coursera offered by deeplearning.ai, including "Convolutional Neural Networks," "Deep Learning, a 5-course specialization," "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization," "Neural Networks and Deep Learning," "Sequence Models," and "Structuring Machine Learning Projects."
