Kristen Ware, M.S.

Kristen Ware, M.S. has a wealth of experience in the field of international education. Kristen began their career in 2006 as an Administrative Assistant at R. Crusoe & Son, a luxury tour operator specializing in customized itineraries for individuals and special interest groups. In 2007, they joined Center For Cultural Interchange Greenheart as an Academic Year Program (AYP) Assistant, where they were responsible for record and organizing student data, distributing materials, training and supervising AYP Interns, composing articles for the quarterly newsletter, assisting with annual conferences, and tracking and preparing con validation letters for Spanish partners. In 2011, they became a Study Abroad Advisor at Purdue University, where they advised students on program options and application processes, created and presented intercultural and pre-departure workshops, collaborated with students, faculty, academic advisors, and parents, facilitated and supervised international and returned student clubs, and designed curricula and led the Global Leadership in Costa Rica program for freshmen. In 2014, they were promoted to Program Manager at DePaul University, where they managed and developed short-term faculty led programs, liaised with faculty and international partners, advised students throughout the application process, provided program pre-departure orientations, trained faculty and staff in best practices, and instructed and led a group of first year students on a short-term study abroad program. In 2016, they took on the role of University Relations Manager at SIT Study Abroad and International Education Intern at Barcelona SAE, where they worked towards preparing programs and students for arrival on site, as well as acclimating students upon arrival and re-entry to better leverage their experiences abroad. In 2019, they joined Submittable as an Implementation Specialist and Manager of Implementation, where they implemented client processes within Submittable and trained clients on building, reviewing, managing, and reporting to meet current goals and enable continued success. Kristen also worked with a range of mid-market and enterprise clients to problem solve and iterate on their processes for efficiency and positive user interactions. In the same year, they were promoted to Senior Account Manager, where they were charged with managing, renewing, and expanding accounts with existing clients and collaborated across teams to ensure client success from the onset.

Kristen Ware, M.S. received their Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 2002 and 2006. Kristen also participated in Study Abroad programs at Universidad de Granada: Centro de Lenguas Modernas in 2005, Cegri, International Center for Higher Education in 2004, and Estudio Sampere, Madrid, Spain in 2003. In 2011, they completed their MSED in Educational Leadership: Higher Education Administration from Purdue University.
