Shantaram Sonawane has over 24 years of experience, with their most recent role being the Senior Human Resources Manager for Sudarshan Chemical Industries Ltd. Shantaram is responsible for end-to-end HR operations for 700 staff at the factory, including strategic learning and development initiatives, and employee engagement. Prior to this, Shantaram worked as a freelance consultant in strategic and operational HR, establishing a PMS system using the BSC approach. Shantaram has also held positions such as General Manager - HR at Glatt System Private Limited, General Manager HR/Head - HR at Desai Brothers Limited, Sr. Manager - HR at Yazaki India Private Limited, and Sr. Manager at Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited. Shantaram's experience also includes roles such as Manager - HR at Kalyani Carpfenter Special Steels Limited, AM - HRD at Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited, and Executive P & IR at Birla Copper. Throughout their career, they have managed various aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, performance appraisal systems, leadership development, and competency development.

Shantaram Sonawane has a diverse education history. Shantaram started their academic journey in 1981 at Janata English School, where they completed their SSC (Science) degree in 1988. Shantaram then attended SSGM College in Kopargaon from 1988 to 1990, where they obtained their HSC (Science) degree.

Moving forward, Shantaram pursued a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Agricultural Engineering from Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, graduating in 1994. Later, they attended the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur from 1994 to 1996, where they earned an M. Tech (HRDM) degree in Human Resources Development.

Besides their formal education, Shantaram Sonawane has earned additional certifications. Shantaram became a certified Business Excellence Assessor and a certified Psychometric Assessment Analyst through Middle Earth Consultants. Additionally, they participated in the Master Class Series on Great Place Diversity and Inclusion offered by the Great Place to Work® Institute (India).
