Charlene Luma, LICSW, currently serves as Chief of Staff at the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office since May 2023 and is a Community Advisory Board Member for the Center on Crime Race and Justice at Northeastern University since September 2022. At Boston College School of Social Work, Charlene has been an Adjunct Professor since September 2021 and serves as Commissioner for the Peace Officer Standards & Training Commission for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since April 2021. From April 2019 to May 2023, Charlene was the Chief of the Victim Witness Assistance Department at the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office. Previous roles include Secretary for the National Urban League Young Professionals and Director of the Boston Trauma Response Program at the Justice Resource Institute, in addition to other leadership positions within various organizations. Charlene holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Education from Boston College.
