Félix Chunga de la Torre

Félix Chunga de la Torre is an accomplished professional in the fields of architecture and urban planning, currently serving as the Director of the Architecture Career and a tenured professor at Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil since October 2011, specializing in Urbanism, Urban Design, and Public Space Design. As the Country Manager of SUMAC since January 2021, Félix leads an architectural, engineering, and consulting firm dedicated to sustainability, with a presence in multiple countries and extensive project work in over 70 cities. Previously, Félix held the position of Director at the Instituto de Planificación Urbana y Regional IPUR from June 2014 to December 2015, after serving as a Research Assistant there from September 2006 to March 2009. Félix holds a Master's degree in Urbanism and Strategic Planning from KU Leuven and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil.
