Al Capra

Al Capra has an extensive work experience in the financial industry. Al is currently the Managing Director and Head of Insurance for the Global Financial Institutions Group at SMBC Group. Prior to that, they worked as a Managing Director at Mizuho Americas for eight years. Al also had a brief role as an MD - FIG during a garden leave period.

Before joining Mizuho Americas, Al worked at Societe Generale as a Managing Director in the Financial Institutions Group for nine years. Al started their career as a Junior Analyst in the insurance sector at Salomon Brothers and progressed to various roles in different companies, including Putnam Lovell NBF, Oppenheimer & Co., KBW, Wasserstein Perella, and First Manhattan Co.

Al Capra holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from Quinnipiac University, which was completed in 1989. In 2022, they participated in the Mergers & Acquisitions Program at Columbia Business School Executive Education. Additionally, they enrolled in the High Impact Leadership Program at the same institution, but specific start and end years are not provided for this program.
