Asif Hussain

Asif Hussain has extensive work experience in the energy sector, particularly in sales, marketing, business development, and strategy. Asif started their career at Potomac Electric Power Co as a Construction Engineer, overseeing construction activities for power generation units. Asif then joined DB Riley, Inc as a Field Service Engineer, where they handled the commissioning, start-up, and retrofit projects for utility and industrial clients. Asif later moved to Foster Wheeler, where they held various senior leadership roles, including Senior Vice President of North American Sales & Marketing Group and Vice President of Business Development for Asia Pacific Operations. In these positions, they managed sales operations, developed new customer relationships, and implemented market strategies. Currently, they are working at Sumitomo SHI FW as a Senior Vice President, leading the strategy and business development efforts for Sub Sahara Africa, Indian Sub-Continent, and Asia Pacific region. Asif'sresponsibilities include market development, project development, and sales of clean energy generation technologies such as energy storage, waste to energy, and carbon capture solutions. Asif Hussain holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, which they obtained from 1990 to 1994. Asif also completed an Accelerated Management Development Certificate in Management at the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business from 2021 to 2022.
