Joseph Thembile

Joseph Thembile has a strong background in safety, risk, and compliance, with extensive experience in the events industry. Joseph currently holds the position of Events Safety Risk and Compliance Lead at Sun International, where they have been working since 2022. Prior to this role, Joseph worked as an Events Safety Risk and Compliance Specialist at the same company. In addition, they served as a SHE Officer at Sun International from March 2022 to June 2022.

Before joining Sun International, Joseph gained valuable experience at PetroSA, where they held various positions. Joseph worked as a SHE Officer - Offshore Support from January 2017 to March 2022, and as a SHEQ Officer/ SHE Advisor from June 2012 to December 2016. Joseph started their career as a Safety Officer at PetroSA in May 2009 and worked there until July 2012.

Joseph Thembile obtained a National Diploma in Safety Management from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika in the years 2012 to 2017. Joseph later pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management from Lyceum College from 2023 to 2024.
