Sotirios Athanasiou

Sotirios Athanasiou, Ph.D., currently serves as the R&D Manager at Sunlight Group Energy Storage Systems, where responsibilities include leading the IPCEI ME/CT project proposal and managing research projects related to electronics, electrical engineering, AI, and energy. Athanasiou has built the R&D Component Department, established two laboratories with a budget of approximately 200K Euros, and acted as functional safety manager for various projects. Prior experience includes roles at X-FAB as a Senior R&D Engineer, Leti as a PostDoc R&D Engineer, STMicroelectronics as a Junior R&D Engineer, and the European Space Agency as an Entry Level R&D Engineer. Athanasiou's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Microelectronics from Grenoble INP - UGA, a Mini MBA from Alba Graduate Business School, an MSc in Microelectronics from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, and a Dipl. Ing. in Computer & Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Thessaly.
