Allen Koosmann

Allen Koosmann has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Allen has held various positions in different companies, showcasing their expertise in finance and accounting.

Allen started their career at Grant Thornton LLP in 1999 as an Audit Manager, where they gained extensive experience in managing audit engagements for clients in various industries. After working there for six years, they joined SUPERVALU in 2005 as the External and Internal Financial Reporting Manager. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating yearend audits, preparing financial statements, and managing financial reporting for co-owned LLC partnerships.

In 2010, Allen transitioned to Elkay Manufacturing, where they held multiple roles. Allen initially worked as the Accounting Manager for Elkay Cabinet's Division, managing a team of 14 employees and overseeing period-end close, invoicing, fixed assets, and other accounting functions. Allen then advanced to the position of Controller and Finance Business Partner, where they provided operational and financial support for multiple manufacturing facilities and Wood Product Division business units.

Currently, Allen is working at SunOpta as the Director of Finance. Since joining in 2016 as the Senior Accounting Manager, they have been instrumental in developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate financial statements. Allen is also responsible for leading a team of three direct reports.

Through their extensive and diverse work experience, Allen has showcased their skills in financial reporting, accounting management, budgeting, and operational support.

Allen Koosmann earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of St. Thomas, which they attended from 1995 to 1999. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Lakeville High School. Allen also holds an inactive CPA certification from the State of Minnesota, obtained in 1999.
