Karin Schallmo

Karin Schallmo possesses extensive experience in research and development within the food industry, currently serving as Research and Development Manager and previously as Senior Food Scientist and Food Scientist at SunOpta since January 2018. Prior experience includes a role as Research and Development Scientist at Starbucks, where Karin focused on developing limited-time-offer beverages and health initiatives. At General Mills, Karin held the position of Research & Development Food Technician II, working on yogurt product development and collaborations with suppliers in the US and Canada. Earlier, Karin contributed as an R&D Food Technician at Dean Foods / Morningstar Foods, gaining hands-on experience with various dairy products. Karin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota, earned in 2010.
