Mariah Picarsic Lpc

Mariah Picarsic, LPC, is an experienced professional specializing in art therapy and addiction counseling. Currently serving as an Addiction Therapist at Sunshine Behavioral Health since July 2023, Mariah previously completed an Art Therapy Counseling Internship at BJC Hospice, where responsibilities included facilitating individual and group counseling sessions for hospice patients and families. Mariah has a background in prevention education, having worked as a Graduate Assistant at the Prevention Education and Advocacy Center at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and has experience supporting the social and emotional learning of children in various educational settings. Mariah's earlier roles include activity therapy for diverse patient populations at the Elgin Mental Health Center and prevention education for students at Mutual Ground. Mariah holds a Master of Arts in Art Therapy Counseling from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Art Therapy from Seton Hill University.
