Crystal Edwards

Crystal Edwards has a diverse work experience in the field of behavioral health and social work. Crystal is currently the Director of Behavioral Health at Sunshine Community Health Center. Prior to that, they worked as a Behavioral Health Officer in the Alaska Army National Guard. Crystal also served as a Psychological Health Coordinator at Ahtna, Inc. and a BHIP Social Worker at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Crystal gained experience as a MSW Intern at Flint Hills Community Clinic and as a Social Worker Intern at ACS. Crystal also worked as a Zumba instructor at Maximus fitness and a Community Organizer at Kansas State University. In addition, they have experience in student support roles at Geary County USD 475.

Crystal Edwards has a diverse education history. Crystal obtained a Doctorate of Social Work from Capella University in 2024. Prior to that, they received a Master of Science (M.S.) in Clinical/Medical Social Work from The University of Kansas in 2014. In 2013, Crystal completed their Bachelor of Science in Social Work at Kansas State University. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Maryland Global Campus (2008) and an Associate of Science degree in General Studies from Kansas City Kansas Community College (2004). Crystal also graduated from Tonganoxie High School in 2002. Crystal has pursued further certifications, including being licensed as an LPC-S, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and a Chemical Dependency Clinical Supervisor in 2023. Crystal has additional certifications in various areas, such as ethics, child maltreatment evaluations, and army-related training.
