Jianping Sun

Jianping Sun has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Their most recent role is as the Chief Executive Officer at Sunshine Oilsands Ltd, a position they have held since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked at PetroChina Canada for ten years, starting as a Senior Advisor in December 2012 and continuing until their transition to their current role. Jianping's longest tenure was at Liaohe Oilfield, Petrochina, where they held various managerial positions from 1997 to 2012, including Production Manager of SAGD Project Management Department, Deputy Manager of Steam Generation & Injection Company, Deputy Manager of Production, Completion & Operation Department, Production & Operations Superintendent, Leader of Production & Completion Team, General Foreman, Technician, and Field Operator. These diverse roles demonstrate their extensive experience in the oil and gas industry.

Jianping Sun earned a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering from Jianghan Petroleum University from 1993 to 1997. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Oil and Gas Development from Daqing Petroleum University from 2005 to 2009.
