Mariellen Johnson

Mariellen Johnson has over 20 years of experience in human resources and organizational effectiveness. Their most recent role is as the Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Sunstar Americas, Inc. Prior to this, they worked at Gallagher Bassett as the Vice President of Human Resources, where they developed and executed the people and culture strategy for a division of 4,600 employees. Mariellen also held the position of Senior Director of Talent Development and Organizational Effectiveness, where they built a Talent Development function and implemented a leadership certification program.

Before joining Gallagher Bassett, Mariellen worked at AbbVie Pharmaceuticals as the Director of Business Excellence, where they applied Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve organizational design and streamline processes. Mariellen also worked at Abbott Global Healthcare as the Assistant Director of HR/Learning & Development Consulting, where they provided talent development and talent management strategies for the R&D division.

Mariellen's earlier experience includes working at Hewitt Associates as a Senior Manager of Learning & Development, where they led the formation of project management standards and managed a team responsible for developing and deploying training programs. Mariellen also worked at Allstate Insurance as a Manager of Human Resources/Organizational Effectiveness, where they managed a team and implemented HR processes, staffing strategies, and change management processes.

Throughout their career, Mariellen has demonstrated a strong focus on talent development, organizational effectiveness, and implementing strategies to drive growth and profitability.

Mariellen Johnson obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Education from Northern Illinois University. Mariellen then pursued their MBA with a specialization in Organizational Behavior at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management from 2009 to 2012. Additionally, Mariellen has earned various certifications including Change Management, Strategy and Execution, and Management Analytics from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. Mariellen also holds a certification in Human Capital Planning from the HCI Institute and a certification as an International Facilitator from the International Facilitator's Association.
