Shawn Kirshner

Shawn Kirshner, CRCM, PMP has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of risk management, compliance, and project management. Shawn currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer at Sunwest Bank. Prior to that, they worked as the Senior Vice President and Head of Compliance at Hanmi Bank. Shawn also held the role of Senior Regulatory Risk Consultant at Crowe, where they implemented the COSO ERM framework and performed internal audit validations for regulatory enforcement actions. As the Chief Risk Officer at Community West Bank, they developed a robust enterprise risk management program. Additionally, Shawn has served as a Board Member for the non-profit organization WHW and has held various leadership roles at Opus Bank and Crowe, focusing on compliance, governance, and regulatory compliance challenges. Their earlier experiences include roles at Accretive Solutions, ValuPoint LLC, and Experis, where they worked on projects related to SOx 404 program implementations in the financial services, healthcare, and public utilities sectors. Throughout their career, Shawn has consistently demonstrated leadership skills, effective collaboration, and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.

Shawn Kirshner, CRCM, PMP has a BA in Economics from California State University, Northridge. Additionally, they hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix. Shawn has also obtained certifications as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) from the Institute of Certified Bankers (ICB) in December 2015 and as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in December 2006.
