Leslie Shepard

Leslie Shepard has worked at SunWest Credit Union for a total of 26 years, starting in 1996 as a Financial Services Representative and Loan Clerk. In 1998, they became the Marketing Manager until 2006. From 2006 to 2013, they were the Marketing & Member Resource Manager. Leslie also held the position of Vice President - Marketing, Compliance & Operations from 2013-2018, where they managed marketing functions, compliance, and the operation functions of the credit union. From 2018-2022, they were the Senior Vice President, responsible for driving business growth and managing relationships with vendors and data analytics groups. Leslie's current role is President/CEO of SunWest Credit Union, starting in November 2022.

Leslie Shepard obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Colorado State University Pueblo in 1996. In 1999 to 2001, they attended CUNA Marketing Management School to study Marketing. Shepard graduated again from Colorado State University Pueblo, this time with a Bachelor of Business Administration - BBA degree in 1996. Later, in 2006 to 2021, Shepard attended CUNA Compliance School to earn a Credit Union Compliance Expert Designation in Financial Industry Compliance. In 2010, they completed Leadership Pueblo 2010, but did not receive a degree. Shepard further pursued the study of Organizational Leadership at CUNA Leadership Institute in 2013. Finally, Shepard obtained a Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) certification from Credit Union National Association, although the exact date is unknown.
