Richard Burke has extensive experience in the fields of naval architecture, marine engineering, and management. Currently serving as Professor Emeritus of Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering at Maritime College, State University of New York since May 2002, Richard has held various academic roles, including Professor and Chairman of Engineering, and Executive Director of the Global Maritime Center for Research, Development, Education & Training. Richard has also contributed to the Research Foundation of the State University of New York as a member of the Patents & Inventions Policy Board and as a Presidential Fellow. Previously, Richard held the position of Research Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Stony Brook University and directed MBA/MS programs at the Lally School of Management Technology at RPI. Richard's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and multiple degrees in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Maritime College.
