Gabriel Mazilu

Gabriel Mazilu has a diverse and extensive work experience. Gabriel began their career as a Research Engineer at the National Metallurgical Research Institute's Special Grade Steels Department in 1992. In 1995, they transitioned to the Romanian Intelligence Service, where they served as a Field Officer for Intelligence Operations until 1999. From 1999 to 2000, they held the position of Bureau Head in charge of Intelligence Operations, and from 2000 to 2003, they served as Section Head, also responsible for Intelligence Operations. Mazilu then became Deputy Director for Intelligence Operations within the Transnational Threat Directorate, a position they held from 2003 to 2009.

Following their time at the Romanian Intelligence Service, Mazilu worked at the Romanian Intelligence Service's National CYBERINT Center from 2009 to 2016. During this period, they held the role of Deputy Director for CyberIntelligence Operations. In this role, they assumed various responsibilities such as coordinating intelligence gathering and investigating cyber attacks from state and non-state entities. Gabriel also played a key role in establishing strategic analysis, assessments, and estimations regarding Cyber Threats to Romania's National Security. Additionally, they chaired cyber conferences within NATO and European Intelligence Services and briefed high-level individuals on cyber defense issues.

In 2016, Mazilu joined Q-East Software SRL Bucharest as a Cyber Security Business Developer, a position they held until 2017. During this time, they contributed to the development and growth of the company's cyber security business.

From April to June 2017, Mazilu served as the Cyber Security Counselor at the Prime Minister's Office within the Romanian Government.

In 2017, Mazilu took on two roles simultaneously. Gabriel became the Senior Advisor to the CEO at Superbet, a position they held from August 2017 to June 2019. Additionally, they became the Superbet Group AML Head in July 2019, a position they continue to hold.

Gabriel Mazilu began their education in 1987 at the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, where they pursued a degree in Diplomă de Inginer (Inginer Diplomat). Gabriel completed their studies in 1992. In 1999, they attended the National Defense College - Minister of National Defense, Romania, where they specialized in National Defense. Gabriel graduated from this program in the same year, earning a degree in Military National Defense.
