Santtu Vekkeli

Santtu Vekkeli is a food science and microbiology expert with extensive experience in various roles, including Founder and Chief Inventor at SuperGround since April 2021, and as an Entrepreneur at SanVek Oy Ltd from May 2020 to May 2022. Previous positions include Development Manager at Kuusisen Kala Oy, where responsibilities encompassed product development, marketing, and food safety. As a NIE Fellow and Founder at Nordic Insect Economy, Santtu focused on insect food and feed technology, R&D, and sales. Early career experiences include teaching and research assistant roles at institutions such as the City of Helsinki, Karolinska Institutet, Nanyang Technological University, and Cornell University. Santtu holds a Master's and a Bachelor's degree in Food Sciences from the University of Helsinki.
