Steve Smietana

Steve Smietana is an experienced software engineer with a track record of working with various technologies and platforms. Steve started their career at Vacasa in 2017, where they held the role of Software Engineer III. During their time there, they developed serverless APIs using Python and AWS resources, implemented integrations between different systems, and built tools to support financial systems.

In 2020, Steve joined TEKsystems as a Cloud Specialist III onsite at Nike. Their responsibilities included developing serverless APIs using Python frameworks like Flask and FastAPI, as well as utilizing AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, ECS, SQS, DynamoDB, and Cloudwatch. Steve also worked with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Jenkins.

Currently, Steve is working at Sure as a Senior Software Engineer. Steve initially joined the company in 2021 as a Software Engineer and quickly took on the responsibility of leading the development of a new project. This involved coordinating resource provisioning, orchestrating CI/CD pipelines, and setting up project frameworks and dependencies. Additionally, they successfully took over backend development responsibilities for an existing client product and released major features efficiently.

Steve Smietana obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Forest Engineering from Oregon State University, where they studied from 2006 to 2011.
