Ben Freeston

Ben Freeston began their career as the Lead Software Engineer at Inatos Networks Ltd from 2000 to 2004. In 2000, they also founded Magicseaweed.com, a company that started as a visualizations provider for weather agency data but later developed its own weather prediction systems. Ben served as the Founder and CEO of Magicseaweed.com until 2016. Since 2017, Ben has been working at Surfline\Wavetrak, Inc., initially as the Data Science Vice President where they combined numerical weather prediction with machine learning to improve forecasts and create valuable consumer products. Ben then became the Vice President of Innovation, followed by the Vice President of Product and Innovation, their current role.

Ben Freeston studied at the University of Kent from 1992 to 1996, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Anthropology (with Comp. Science).
