Peter Smittenaar

Peter Smittenaar has extensive experience working in data science and AI roles for various companies. Peter currently holds the position of VP of Data Science & AI at Surgo Health. Prior to this, they held the same position at Surgo Ventures and was Director of Data Science & AI at Surgo Foundation. Peter also worked as a statistical consultant at Quit Genius and as a principal data scientist and clinical researcher at Hinge Health. Other previous roles include digital health consultant at Healum, neuroscientist at Praedico, and science lead at Citizen Science at Cancer Research UK. Peter co-founded Betahunter, a company that provided an online platform for technical and exact sector workers to connect with employers. Peter sold Betahunter in 2010.

Peter Smittenaar earned a Bachelor's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Radboud University in 2007. Peter later obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Cognitive Neuroscience from the same institution, completing the program in 2010. From 2010 to 2015, Smittenaar pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Neuroscience at UCL.
