Robert Carr

Robert Carr has extensive experience in the field of sustainability and environmental advising. Robert is currently working as the Chief Operations Officer at Sustainability Excellence since 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Advisory Services at the same company from 2021 to 2023. Before joining Sustainability Excellence, Robert had various roles at Virentis Ltd., including Environment and Sustainability Adviser for Indexa Urban Planning and Environmental Adviser for the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. Additionally, they served as the Interim Environmental Director for NEOM. Prior to their time at Virentis Ltd., Robert worked as the Director of Environment & Sustainability at WSP in the Middle East and as the Head of Strategic Environment at Buro Happold. Robert also gained experience as the Director of Task Sustainability Consultants and held several positions at Scott Wilson, where they were responsible for managing corporate and property sustainability groups. Robert began their career as a Project Manager at PD Design Associates and later worked as a Business Development Executive at Conran Design Group.

Robert Carr has a diverse education history. In 1978, they attended Uppingham School. Later, from 1991 to 1994, they pursued a BA (1st Class) in Environmental Policy and Management at London Metropolitan University. In 1994, they went on to earn an MSc. in Environmental Assessment and Management from Oxford Brookes University. Recently, in 2020, Robert studied Sustainable Finance at the University of Cambridge. In addition to their academic achievements, they obtained fellowships from IEMA in 2018 and The RSA (The royal society for arts, manufactures and commerce) in 2011.
