Hannah Thornton, MS, RD, currently serves as the Senior Director of Food Access and Education at the Sustainable Food Center, overseeing a team of 12 and managing a budget exceeding $6 million to impact over 40,000 Texans. Previous roles include Food Access Director, where programs like Double Up Texas and The Happy Kitchen/La Cocina Alegre were implemented. Prior to their tenure at Sustainable Food Center, Hannah held various academic positions at Texas State University from 2012 to 2022, including Clinical Assistant Professor, where mentoring and multiple course teachings in the Nutrition & Foods department occurred. Hannah also directed the dietetic internship program at Texas State University and provided nutritional counseling services as the owner of Hannah Thornton, RD. Earlier experience includes roles in school meal compliance with the Texas Department of Agriculture and financial aid management in higher education. Educational credentials include a Master's of Science in Nutrition from Texas State University and a Master's of Science in Conservation Biology from Florida International University.
