Stefan Carlsen began their work experience in 1991 as a Project Worker at Umeå University, where they focused on characterizing the active site of an enzyme encoded by Herpes Simplex Virus. Stefan then moved on to Lund University in 2005 as a Postdoctoral Researcher, and later joined Cartela AB as a Research Scientist. In this role, they worked with recombinant proteins and set up antibody-producing B-cell hybridomas.
Carlsen then joined Karolinska Institutet in 2008 as a Postdoctoral Researcher, specializing in immunology and protein chemistry. Stefan focused on characterizing immune responses and mapping epitopes on antigens involved in arthritis.
In 2009, Carlsen had a brief stint as a Consultant at MD Biosciences Ltd before joining Euro Diagnostica AB in 2010. At Euro Diagnostica AB, they worked as a Senior Scientist and eventually became a Principal Research Scientist. Stefan'swork involved leading projects in the development of diagnostic ELISA's for various human diseases. Carlsen was responsible for design control according to medical devices regulations.
Overall, Carlsen has extensive experience in immunology, protein chemistry, and diagnostic development throughout their career.
Stefan Carlsen holds a PhD in Medical Science, which they obtained from Lund University between 1997 and 2005. Prior to that, they pursued a Master's degree in Molecular Biology at Umeå University from 1989 to 1994.
