Jenny Bell Holmen has a diverse work experience in the environmental field. In 1998, they began their career as a Wildlife Apprentice at the Tennessee Valley Authority, and later worked as a Wildlife Biologist and Monitor for a private contractor. From 2003 to 2006, they served as a Wildlife Biologist and Office Manager for the Wildlife Conservation Society's Greater Yellowstone Wolverine Study. Jenny then worked as a Wildlife Biologist on a project hire basis at Jones & Stokes in 2006. In 2007, they joined the Bureau of Land Management as an Environmental Protection Specialist for a one-year term. From 2008 to 2014, they served as a Senior Environmental Scientist at Nelson Consulting, Inc. Since 2014, they have been working as a Field Biologist, Writer, and Editor on a freelance basis. In 2019, they joined SWCA Environmental Consultants as an Environmental Specialist and Writer. Throughout their career, Jenny has been involved in various aspects of environmental work, including resource management planning, NEPA document review, grant writing, and editing. Jenny has provided guidance and support to environmental consulting firms, companies, non-profits, and private individuals in writing and editing various types of documents.
Jenny Bell Holmen attended Truman State University from 1994 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. During their time at Truman State University, they focused on a general study of biology. Additionally, in 1999, they briefly attended Murray State University, specializing in Remote Sensing (GIS) for the duration of one year.
